Amazon Echo is designed around your voice. Its far-field voice recognition hears you from across the room and lets you control your connected home devices without lifting a finger, Garageio included!

Controlling Garageio with Your Echo

You can control many of Garageio’s features by speaking directly to your Amazon Echo. Here are a few of the things the Garageio app can help with:


TO CLOSE YOUR GARAGE DOOR, SAY:

“Alexa, tell Garageio to close my door”

TO OPEN YOUR GARAGE DOOR, SAY:

“Alexa, tell Garageio to open my door”

TO CLOSE YOUR GARAGE DOOR BY NAME, SAY:

“Alexa, tell Garageio to close Lauren’s Door”

TO OPEN YOUR GARAGE DOOR BY NAME, SAY:

“Alexa, tell Garageio to open Lauren’s Door”

TO HEAR THE NAMES OF YOUR DOORS, SAY:

“Alexa, ask Garageio to tell me about my garage doors”

TO CHECK IF YOUR DOORS ARE CLOSED, SAY:

“Alexa, ask Garageio if any of my doors are open”

TO ASK GARAGEIO FOR HELP, SAY:

“Alexa, ask Garageio to help me”


VIEW MORE COMMANDS

To connect your Garageio to your Amazon Echo, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Garageio App and navigate to My Account > Integrations > Amazon Alexa. Tap Continue.
  2. Set your Pin Code and re-enter to confirm (if you’ve already set your Pin Code within your My Account settings, enter it now).
  3. You'll then be directed to the Alexa Companion App or Alexa Dashboard. Go to Skills and search for Garageio.
  4. Enable the Garageio Skill and enter your Garageio account email and password.
  5. Choose Allow.
  6. Ask Alexa “Alexa, ask Garageio if any of my doors are open.”
Note: Alexa now requires that you provide a Pin Code any time you want to open a garage door using your voice. You must also enable the Garageio skill in the Alexa App before you can speak commands to Garageio using Alexa!
